Reach Out for Sick Children

This year sees the launch of the WellChild Nurse Appeal – Reach Out For Sick Children.

Four years ago – having listened to and learned from children, young people and families living with serious illnesses and complex health conditions – we launched our WellChild Children’s Nurse programme and funded our first Nurse.

That was in response to the growing need for support in the home and the wider community for those children, young people and families. It was also in answer to the call from those families with children and young people facing long-term hospital stays when they could be cared for at home if only the support was available.

Quite simply, the programme works. We now have 11 WellChild Nurses caring for children with long term serious conditions across the UK and we want to be able to fund many, many more to reach those hundreds of families who are desperate for our support.

Our aim is for every child, young person and family that needs it to have access to a WellChild Children’s Nurse. With YOUR help we believe that we can achieve exactly that.
